WHAT IS TRADE SCHOOL?

WHAT IS TRADE SCHOOL?

It is an educational institution designed to train students for a specific job in a skilled trade career. Some of the most common examples are: plumbers, electricians, dental hygenists, mechanics, and carpenters. People in trade tend to be good at hands-on learning and project/problem solving!

WHAT DOES TRADE SCHOOL OFFER ME?

Trade school provides hands-on training that prepares you with practical skills for the field you want to work in. The curriculum is focused on providing training that is entirely relevant to your future job. Everything you do in school is what you will most likely face in the work-field.

HOW DO I KNOW IF TRADE SCHOOL IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Do you want to make a good living and get an education, but do not want to spend four year and a boat load of money to do that? Trade school might be a good option for you. You do not need to wait for a college degree, you can head in to a trade school that provides on-the-job training right after you graduate high school! Trade school is especially good for people who like to work with their hands and like to think independently rather than collaboratively.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TRADE SCHOOL?

Attending college and obtaining a four-year degree is not the only path for success in life, and it is not for everyone! There are plenty of benefits of attending trade school. Here are just a few to consider:

  1. Little to no debt: Trade school tuition is much cheaper than the total cost of attending a four-year college.

  2. Less training time: Training programs for skilled trades are usually 6 months to 2 years depending on the trade. This is compared to four-years to earn a bachelor's degree.

  3. Paid training: On-site training and apprenticeships for trade jobs are often paid. So you are making money AND learning a ton - it's a win-win!

  4. Opportunities for business growth: There is a lot of room for growth and flexibility with trade jobs. If it is something you are interested in, you can one day start your OWN business!

  5. Good income: Skilled trade jobs can pay just as much or sometimes even more than those who graduated from a four-year university.

  6. Gain a practical skillset: Who doesn’t want to have good life skills? Many trade jobs provide you with skills you can use in your daily life (you might never have to call an electrician or a plumber to your house if you can fix everything!).

  7. Job security: We will always need trade workers who are skilled in working with their hands.

HOW LONG DOES TRADE SCHOOL TAKE?
